About this puzzle
This is a 317 piece wooden jigsaw puzzle of the famous painting "Netherlandish Proverbs" from 1559 by Pieter Brueghel the Elder. It illustrates over 50 Netherlandish proverbs, from "Big fish eat little fish," to "The herring hangs by its own gills." The puzzle comes with a visually-keyed legend to the proverbs (in English and German). Our puzzle has a grid of square pieces with interspersed themed whimsies (click on the little picture below the puzzle image to see example pieces). This puzzle has a straight edge but is harder than average.
