Small Four Color Map

Small four color map abstract

About this puzzle

This 68 piece wooden puzzle has no picture - the pieces themselves are the puzzle. An added twist: there are only four different colors of pieces, and no two adjacent pieces are the same color (mathematically speaking, it illustrates the Four Color Map Theorem (see wikipedia for details)). Note the picture on the box does NOT show the pieces assembled! This abstract puzzle style is inspired by a design and cut-style of master-handcutter John Stokes III. The pieces were designed by Seattle artist Tara Flannery.
