About this puzzle
Owls have long been associated with magic and are featured in many old illustrations of witches and wizards. They are second only to cats as the "Most Magical Creatures." They are also the emblem of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, who chose them as her mascot. Coins were minted at the time with Athena's face on one side and an owl on the reverse. These enigmatic creatures are universally recognized as symbols of wisdom, bearers of death omens, and messengers of prophecy.
