About this puzzle
Beatrice F. Brown spent summers on her grandmother's back porch learning to sew and quilt. She remembers thinking back then, "this is the life for me." However, it wasn't until her journey from an undergraduate degree in art from Hampton University, to a second degree in biochemistry at Rutgers, a PhD in molecular biology and immunology from Temple University School of Medicine, then 35 years of developing cancer diagnostics, and finally retirement that she was able to fully devote her time to honoring historic, traditional quilting designs by reinventing them in her own style.
